If you just got a new iPad mini, you’re going to want to get a great case as well. Even though Apple is doing a great job at making their devices tougher each year, they are still very susceptible to cracks and scratches. I purchased some of the top rated cases on Amazon for the iPad mini and I’ll review each of them in this article. I’ll make sure to link to each case as well so you can look at any case you may be interested in.

DTTO Folio Case

The first case we’ll look at is the DTTO Folio Case

This is the case that I’ve been using the most recently. It provides more of a notebook style look to it and sort of masks the fact that you have an iPad as more of a nice looking planner. This case isn’t necessarily the highest quality, but for the price it’s pretty great.

It also comes with a decent sized pocket, which is nice as well.

The lid has grooves in it to allow the iPad to stand up. There are multiple grooves which allow for multiple viewing angles.

I also appreciate that it has a closed in space for the Apple Pencil. I’m not a huge fan of how exposed the pencil can be when it’s only magnetized to the iPad. I’ve found that it will often fall off, making your Pencil susceptible to being easily lost. This case has a custom compartment that holds the Pencil much more securely to the case than to the iPad.

Overall, this is a great case. It looks great, it’s very protective, and it has a lot of extra added features that make it stand out as one of my favorites. You can check it out here: https://jerad.link/dttofolioipadmini6

Soke Case

The next case we’ll look at is the Soke Full Body Pencil Case.

This is a much simpler case that just protects the edges of the iPad like an iPhone case does. It doesn’t have a flap that covers the screen, which is a downside, but it does have a more secure way to hold the apple pencil.

The back of the case has a built in stand attached. This is great for propping up the iPad. I also found that this stand is a nice way to hold the iPad a little more securely. It helps me to get a better grip on the iPad without having to rest my thumb on the screen.

If you’re looking for a simpler case that doesn’t have a front cover, but still offers a decent amount of protection, this might be a great option for you. Check it out here: https://jerad.link/sokepencilipadmini6

Spigen Rugged Armor Case

Up next, we’ve got a case from Spigen. This is another simple option that acts more like an iPhone case than a folio styled case.

I do really like the design of this case. It’s minimal, simple, and unobtrusive. One downside here is that it doesn’t have a way to secure the Apple Pencil to the side. It also provides very little front protection to the screen. Because of that, this likely wouldn’t be a case that I’d choose to carry my iPad around on a daily basis. If I were to be using my iPad mostly in a stationary position at my desk or on my couch, then this case would be a great option. You can check it out here: https://jerad.link/spigenruggedipadmini6

Soke Magnetic Folio Stand Case

Next, we’ve got another case from Soke. This case, in comparison with their last case we discussed, is much more of a folio style, complete with a front cover and stand.

The texture of this case was unique. It would be something that I would have to get used to. Like the other case, the back of this case has a built in stand. The stand fits into the multiple grooves in the flap and allows for multiple viewing angles. One thing that does bother me about this case is that it’s a bit floppy. You can see in the image below how thin and loose the connection between the flap and the case is. This isn’t a huge deal, but it is something that stood out to me as less than ideal.

This case does provide a slot for the Apple Pencil though, which is great. You can check it out here: https://erad.link/sokefoliostandipadmini6

Moko Folio Case

The Moko Folio Case is the first case I used for my iPad mini. Its design is incredibly simple and also has a slot for your pencil. The flap can fold into a stand like an Apple Case and the back has a clear transparent finish, which is unique to some of the other cases we’ve looked at.

Overall, this is a nice, simple case. Check it out here: https://jerad.link/mokofolioipadmini6

ESR Cover Case

The last case we’ll look at is from ESR.

What I like about it is the covered insert for the Apple Pencil. The insert can be folded back and magnetically clasps to the flap of the case, making for easy access to the pencil.

The flap also rolls up into a stand and feels very secure. The back of the case is semi transparent and has a nice minimal design. I do like this case and the faux leather feel to it. You can check it out here: https://jerad.link/esrcoveripadmini6
