The Oculus Quest 2 is a phenomenal piece of technology. I purchased one this last year and have really enjoyed playing games on it with my kids. In my time with the Oculus, I’ve found there are quite a few great accessories that make owning it a much better experience. I’ll walk through every accessory I own and how I use it in this article.

Quest 2 Elite Strap

The first accessory that I believe is a must-have is the Quest 2 Elite Strap

This strap replaces the default strap that goes on the top of your head. Unfortunately, the default strap that comes with the Oculus is uncomfortable and fairly insecure. I have seen many fail videos where a user moves their head too quickly and the Oculus goes flying off. The elite strap secures the device to your head much more effectively and is also much more comfortable to use than the default strap.

The elite strap also comes with a battery component that greatly expands the battery life of your device. With more intensive gameplay, having improved battery life is crucial. If you’re only going to get one accessory from this list, I would get this one. You can check out the elite strap here:

Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset

If you want to have a truly immersive gaming experience, good audio is a must. I recommend the Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset

This headset comes Oculus ready, which means its cable is the correct length to plug into the Oculus. The headset is also designed for gaming and provides outstanding audio quality. It offers a comfortable and fully immersive experience that will be a great addition to your Oculus gameplay. Check out the Logitech G Pro headset here:

Kiwi Oculus Grip Covers

For people who have kids, like I do, you should really consider buying some grip covers for the controllers.

This rubber coating has two main benefits: it’s easily washable so you can keep your controllers clean and clear of any gunk or dirt from your kids’ hands, and it provides extra grip so your kids will be less likely to accidentally throw a controller while playing. Anker Oculus Quest 2 Charging Dock

The absolute best solution that I have found for charging is the Anker charging dock

The dock has a single panel with ports to charge your Oculus and its two remotes at the same time. It does this using magnet charging technology that you can attach to the controllers and a USB-C tab for the device itself.

The downside of this dock is that it won’t be compatible if you are also using the elite strap battery that we discussed earlier in this article. Unfortunately, the two devices use the same port, so you’ll need to remove the strap to use the dock. You will also need to remove the grip covers from the controllers before charging those as well. With all of that said, the Anker dock is still a powerhouse of a charger and I highly recommend it as a great charging option. Check it out here:

Cases

To store and transport your Oculus safely, you’ll want a good case. Now, you can choose to go with the case that Oculus makes, but I have found that some of these third party cases are a bit more functional in design.

I’ll link to a couple of cases that I like, the first being the JSVER case here: https://jerad.link/jsveroculuscase

This is a very sturdy case that comes with a hand strap and a shoulder strap. The inside is designed to house the Oculus very snuggly and there’s room to hold the controllers securely as well.

The other case is from Yinke. Check it out here: https://jerad.link/yinkeoculuscase

This case is more rigid than the JSVER case, which may be good if you are looking to travel with your Oculus. The inside of the case also comes with elastic straps to securely hold your device and that controllers. It also comes with a little bit of extra room on the inside if you decide to add other things like headphones as well.

Rechargeable Batteries

The last thing I’ll mention is good rechargeable batteries. If you choose not to purchase the charging dock we talked about earlier, you’ll want to make sure that you have some good batteries that are rechargeable. The batteries I use are here: http://jerad.link/eblusbaabatteries

They have a USB port built right into the side of them so you can easily recharge them without even removing them from your device.

Final Thoughts

The Oculus Quest 2 on its own is a fantastic little device, and with these accessories, you can even further enhance your Oculus experience. If you’re interested in more accessory videos, check out these videos on the State of Tech YouTube channel:
